You can duplicate the display of your laptop screen to an external monitor by using a VGA cable. All you need to do is just connect the VGA cable from your laptop to your external monitor. Now go to the location Control Panel/Appearance and Personalization/Display setting and choose "Connect to a projector" option according to the requirement.
