On 5 December 2014 International Criminal Court withdrew the case against the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta. He was being tried to count on charges of crimes against humanity for his involvement in ethnic violence that erupted after elections in 2007. Kenyatta is the first sitting President to appear before the International Criminal Court for ethnic violence. President of Kenya Kenyatta was accused of helping to plan and finance a wave of ethnic violence after disputed elections in 2007. More than 1200 people died and 600000 fled their homes in Naivasha and Nakuru due to ethnic violence.
