    APCI stands for Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization, it is an ionization method which is useful for less polar molecules where ESI is unable to provide the reasonable quantity of ions. This method is very similar to chemical ionization. Ionization of any molecule upon which an enzyme acts is very useful as it occurs at atmospheric pressure.
